I don't remember when or where I saw it and I don't know what's the point about mentioning it, but diet coke cans float while the regular ones sink....

The same happens with diet pepsi. It has to do with the sugar in one, and artifical sweetner in the other. Pick up a bag of sugar, feel how heavy it is, and then pick up a bag of splenda. Splenda or most of these sweetners are a lot lighter than sugar. Thats one of the reasons.
