There is nothing wrong in being GREEN, conservation of resources and limiting pollution is a wonderful goal. I'm all for alternative energy (including nuclear), but the politics of it is just stupid. Let's eliminate oil and coal plants because of CO2 emissions, OK, then go Nuclear... Nope, because if there is an accident we could have a Chernobyl... OK, well Solar can work in some places even if it is more expensive, No it makes hazardous chemicals in the manufacture of the cells. How about Wind power? No because Kennedy doesn't want to lose his view of the bay and a bird might fly into it.

For every possible solution there is another special interest group that opposes it.

And your source was a group of Republican Senators bought and paid for by oil lobbyists. Which is worse?

They are the group responsible for overseeing the issue. They are in the position of authority and management of it. Not some wannabe that makes a living off stirring up the fanatical anti-establishment crowd.

Yep. They are the ones in power to do something about it (unfortunately). They are also the ones causing the problem. I can't wait till the '06 and '08 elections.... My guess is your opinion of those in authority will change overnight when the Dems take back control.

And the funny thing is the major troublemaker will not the pro-pollution (or pro-oil company) but the "eco" guys.

Soon (or now?) will seem a new class of guys, the ecoterrorist, they have a nice ideal but applied in a idiot (and dangerous way).

Now, the global warm have a solution :less people in the World. So a warm world means more hurricanes, more rain, more flood.. and this is equal to loss more people. Less people is equal to less pollution.... and the World will take (for a while) a balance. Of course the cost will be high, many species and human lifes will loss.

What is really amazing to me is that several republican friends of mine that have seen the movie have given it glowing reviews! I feel like I'm on another planet. I wonder why this movie is converting even die hard righties to the 'Inconvenient Truth' of man made global warming! I guess I've got to go watch it myself to find out. :approve:
Thats how Mark Warner won election in virginia as a democrat 2x. He knows that most southern republicans are gun toting NRA lovers but who also love the enviornment more than anything.
