The german government today published the emission plan. It is the first country worldwide that has committed itself to reduce the emmissions of CO2.

Europeans don't want to weaken the us economy. We just dont want people to die. Not in the third world and not in New Orleans. And the US government seems not to care a bit for lifes of people, who are not top managers in the oil industry. They dont care for the people in the third world and they dont care for the black folks in New Orleans. The citizens of the United States of America use more resources of this planet (per person) than any other country. And... dear american friends IT IS NOT YOUR PLANET.

Sad to say yes, I am (though I am definitely not the worst among peaceful people). Your government, two-party system, Fox brainwash, plain crappy governors (Arnüld deciding wether people should live or die), citizens that actually believe in their corrupt government and bought research makes me want to vomit.

The scary part is that I am right sometimes.

Yet (based on your other posts) we must trust the military/intelligence agencies who are funded by the government because they (despite the lack of peer review by the rest of the world) will always tell the truth... seems like an interesting position that you occupy there.

Are you familiar with the term 'doublethink'?

The BBC is never, has never been, and by law is not allowed to be a liberal website/broadcaster in the political sense of the word.

address the question psionandy.

you can criticize me all you want but at least address the question. how does the sun factor into global warming, what has humans done to make the sun and mars hotter?

Source for the sun and mars getting hotter?

Not sure what that has to do with global warming. Have you seen the movie yet? Go see it, and then try to debunk it.

what heats the earth? what heats mars?

around the same time that earth was getting hotter both mars and the sun was getting hotter also. does that not mean anything as to why the earth is getting hotter? and if the sun and mars is getting hotter, what did man do? the the mars rover cause mar's polar ice caps to melt. what about the sun? was it all of the telescopes and shuttles with solar panels bouncing light(heat) back to the sun?

I haven't seen the movie, i'll probaly rent. it's already been debunked, someone has posted a link somewhere in here.

my favorite quote from a real climate change scientist, who studies climate change

Quote:
Carter does not pull his punches about Gore's activism, "The man is an embarrassment to US science and its many fine practitioners, a lot of whom know (but feel unable to state publicly) that his propaganda crusade is mostly based on junk science."

Yup .... I suppose that is why the US is BY FAR the biggest contributor to ODA (Official Development Assistance) where the top ten recepients are Iraq, Congo, Chna, India, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Eqypt, Pakistan, Ghana, and Vietnam. SOURCE LINK

And Sam - where were you and your gov't or the UN during the slaughter and genocide in Africa?

You are right concerning the slaughter in Africa (I think you refer to the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, right?). It was the duty of the world to stop this. But at least we dont slaughter by ourselves (MyLai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_Massacre), Haditha), but thats off topic.

JMJSelect... you dont care about reality, dont you? NO serious scientist WORLDWIDE denies the influence of CO2 on the climate change.

Your link is ending with this quote:

"The scientists do not pretend they can explain everything, nor do they say that attempts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions should be abandoned. But they do feel that understanding of our nearest star must be increased if the climate is to be understood."

Think what you want. People die out there, islands will disappear, while one nation has it's own fantasy about what is going on. Maybe its time you get your own planet. Bye.

Sorry, wasn't critisising you, I just was to busy trying to correct the other gaping holes in your logic I must have missed that one question (or is it two?)

As far as mars goes then obviously people haven't done anything to make it hotter. And yes the sun does have its own activity cycle as well (please don't stop reading at this point JMJ). However Venus is considerably hotter than it should be due to its position from the sun. This is down to a greenhouse effect where the atmosphere is trapping the heat from the solar radiation (and for the benefit of JMJ we didn't cause this either- but please keep reading)

We live in the sweet spot of the solar system. And are probably subject to both effects. And it appeared that the effect that we can do something about acts as a multiplier on the one that we can't. Take .that runaway greenhouse effect on Venus for example...

Is the planet doomed? Probably not.. it is after all it's just a big lump of rock.
The climate and ecosystem will probably be effected though.
My big vested interested is in this thing we call human civilisation. Personally I'd like it to continue . Unfortunately its not sustainable in the way it is now. So we can make changes now; and try and halt/mitigate the damage; or have the more unpleasant changes forced on us when it's too late

This is just something that I've heard/read somewhere, but wasn't it Venus where some great climate change had happened quite suddenly due to the greenhouse effect or something like it, and some scientists were afraid that it could happen on earth?
Before you bash my lack of sources - Check your own first. ;)

That was a little funny. :)
Genocide aside - Since you're throwing old war stories at each other - USA and Iran, Guatemala, Kongo, Cuba, Vietnam, Chile are all filthy stories, and since you brought up the nazis and Germany - many nazi scientists were welcome in the US. Read about Godwin's law, by the way.
