I just purchased the Moto V360 phone, nothing special, but something to tide me over until I can decide on a REAL phone (i.e., smartphone, etc. ) Anyway, the Moto has mp3 capability which I would like to take advantage of. There are two ways to connect a stereo headset, using the 2.5mm jack or the mini-USB port. Does anyone know the pros/cons of using either one?
There is also the option of getting a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, which would allow me to use my own 3.5mm stereo headphones with the phone. There are even adapters that have a built-in mic to allow you take calls while your own headphones are plugged in.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. :approve:
Buy some of the 2.5mm jacks, because I believe the mini-USB is more expensive and harder to find. You could also go with a BT headset. Mabie not as good sounds but you get that cool BT look.

My wife has a smartphone (Audiovox SMT5600) w/ 1GB miniSD. I ogged a bunch of music and she uses TCPMP to listen to music.
The phone was a refurb, only $29.99. I should have gotten two!
I like to be able to listen to mp3 + take calls while running(of course I stop running while talking), so I always use my phone with headset. Not very good sound quality, but very functional.
wouldn't your phone run out of battery power if you listened to mp3s for too long then you couldnt make any calls how long can you use it ?
It would, but I've been reading about people using their phones with FM transmitters in their cars (or hooked up to their home stereos, etc.) and that got me thinking about this whole thing... And if you're using your phone in your car, you can always keep it hooked up to the car charger anyway...
It gets me thinking about buying a smartphone. Seems like a lot less hastle.
I am imagining, walking around town wearing my cool BT headset, listening to mp3's, music pauses for me to take a call, I'm talking on my phone while making an appointment in my scheduler, I then disconnect the phone only to have my music start playing again for me. All one unit, and one headset.
It worse came to worse, I would use an Ipod + smartphone via 1 BT headset.
I love my axim and plan to keep it forever, but doesn't the alternative sometimes seem better.

I also have the v360. I prefer to listen to my music via the built in speaker. Its pretty cool when I'm walking or hanging around outside, I can load my play list and adjust the volume from the up\down keys. Pop it in my holster and listen while washing the car.
For being a phone (not a smart phone) its pretty nice I think. My next phone I think will be an MDA from TMobile.

My marvelous iPhono minis have this capability, and it actually pauses the music playback if you use the iPhono mini BT stereo transmitter with a 4G or earler iPod, or an iPod mini, while you take a call. It seems completely automated. It automatically pauses your music and lets you take the call, then when you're done you press a button, and it switches right back, and ends the call.

Yeah, so far I'm pretty happy with it. The speakers actually aren't that bad! How do you find the battery life (especially while listening to mp3s)? The battery meter doesn't seem very accurate...
I've just ordered this 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo adapter to use with my headphones. I figured if I had a problem, at least I'm dealing with a legitimate vendor and not Ebay!

Wow, the iPhono minis look really nice! :approve: So much nicer than the typical bulky stereo BT headphones/headsets! Which cell phone are you using with them?
