FF with its themes, plugins, lack of IE holes, etc. makes FF the King.

Here's a trick. If you're getting bombarded with Spyware and Malware and viruses... move "iexplorer.exe" out from program files so that the program cannot be launched. Most viruses and spyware open and close IE just long enough to populate.

I really though It would be much better. What I really expect is something going to compete with FF. but sorry there is no way :rolling:
"Microsoft has tightened IE's security in other ways, too. For example, an added antiphishing filter aims to warn users if they visit a known or potential phishing site--a function previously available only via third-party toolbars. You also get an add-on manager that leaves some ActiveX controls enabled but can disable IE's access to other ActiveX controls, like those within the Windows operating system, which criminals could manipulate to gain control of your computer. In addition, the company says it has modified IE's code to make it harder for hackers to exploit."

Beta 2 broke my ability to offer remote assistance to users. Anybody know if B3 fixes that?

:bang: :soap:

Anyway, if you need tabs in IE you could have always used Maxthon, it rawx!
I dunno - but it gets awfully tedious. When you're the #1 player, though, it's typical to get tomatoes thrown at you and, despite all the flames - MS is #1.

If you prefer Firefox then use it - by all means; but cut the crap with this MS bashing. You may think it makes you look good but it really makes you look STOOPID!

I'm not 'bashing' IE.. all I was saying was that FF was/is a much better alternative. and it's not because IE is number one. had MS kept with the times and actually made a browser that was able to compete with other browsers, things would have been different. finally IE7 (for now) at least looks capable of competing with the likes of FF and opera. time will tell, that's for sure.

why are you so anti-FF and anti alternative? it seems like you're just totally going off at anyone that even suggests that there's an alternative to IE and MS.

Odd, with Maxthon, IE has always been on par (and in my mind better) than FF.
IE based browsers are the only ones that support my hardware.

Fight fire with fire...

I have nothing against Opera, infact, it is quite good. FF is a memory leaking hog, and that is what I have against it.

Just so you know, FF isn't standards compliant either...

again, that's with Maxthon as you said. IE6 by itself, well, sucks, to be blunt. the jury's out on IE7. and I'm very curious as to what kind of hardware you're running that only IE-based browsers will support it...

I have never had problems with FF leaking memory. I open it, it takes up memory, then when I close it all that memory is back. no problems for me.

as for the lack of standards compliance, all I know is that I have never had a problem with FF displaying a page for me, that is, unless it was designed for IE, which much farther from being standard's compliant than FF is.

Run FF thru the Acid2 test, you will see.

I run biometric security on my PC... Only IE supports it.

Leave FF open overnight and check the mem usage in the A.M.!

I have heard of the problem myself, just have not experianced it. it may be because I use linux and only the windows version experiences this problem.

I installed it and the "Go" button doesn't work. Anybody has this problem? I don't know why I have so many issue with IE...even with IE6, it crashed all the time before...it could be because of Yahoo toolbar or PDF reader.
