I was just reading through the news on my Google home page and came across this article on the Middle East. Ihave no comment except exasperation and I wonder how it will EVER be resolved.
If Jukov is around I would be interested to hear his response as he is much closer to it (and better informed) than the rest of us.

Those who hate and fight must stop themselves. . . else it will never stop .. the West needs to get out of both/ all sidesbecause we are not qualified to intervene in either culture of the main 2 that are involved!

I would disagree that we should stay out of it. But I think that real investigation into all sides is required to really understand the root causes. If one side really thinks this way (and they do I have read many such articles) then we should try to understand their point of view. I am not saying we should agree with it or that its not just a smoke screen. But just maybe there is a grain of truth in there somewhere that we have overlooked. If the George told Israel that maybe they should not destroy a city because one solder was kidnapped, I bet you could hear the Muslim jaws dropping from here. I am not saying George should tell them to stop just issue one of those political you really ought to reconsider messages.

Perhaps I should have said those who hate and fight one another must stop themselves.....and as posted elsewhere, maybe the way to do that is for the parties most directly involved (Israel and Palestine as I see it) to engage in mutual tolerant discovery of what is truly at the root of this seemingly endless dispute. And IMHO the west simply does not have the depth of religious and cultural and historical understanding that needs to be in place in order for true progress to occur......We are simply not trusted by (perhaps) a sizeable fraction of the people of the region in dispute.....we have too many vested interests and conflicts of interest etc.....because of these things, I believe we are not well suited to play some major role there. That is my personal opinion, and I am not trying to set myself up as having some special qualifications!!!!!!

but you see that's the problem.
the more tolerant anyone is to the muslims, the more intolerant they become, because they hate tolerance.
