woot, italy won the world cup!! I'm so happy it wasn't france, zidane's little header at the end really pissed me off...
Yup... There's stupidity and then some.
If he'd have kept his head (please excuse the pun) then France could have probably won... but Italy took those penaltys Very well.....

gee, you guys are fast. It is an unfortunate end for Zidane and France, because I think France really had the better play during much of the game. Just shows that smart play is as important has the physical play.
I was surprised at how well Italy took their PKs... as they showed before the PKs started italy was 0:3 in PKs. and the entire trophy ceremony there was no trace of zidane anywhere... wonder how he's feeling right now...

I agree. Think both teams played well and made it a very entertaining game - and Italy looked dangerous at evry set piece - but thought France created more chances and looked more creative. But yeah - take Zidane, Henry and Viera out and you just ripped their heart out for the end of the match and pens ...

I understand about zidane as he deserved what he got but the other two could have stayed the extra 10 minutes and maybe the score would have been different. See you all in another 4 years. This match was indeed very exciting for everyone.

It is sad to see such a great player fall at such a high level match to such a low stature!
Somehow Italy seemed all set for the World Champ title! The fact that they made it to the quarter-finals motivated them. It was a perfect team and by far the only deserved team (as far as team spirit+effort is concerned) No single Italian player dominated the matches and almost every player scored a GOAL!:approve: This makes it the fittest team to win and shows the World that you need to work as a team - unselfish and being at the right place at the right time to take your goals head-on! Finally hats of to Buffon!:approve: who did not allow a single goal to be scored in the back of the net by his opponents! (His team mate made 1 not opponent; and Zidane was only succesful to cross the line - Not hitting the back of the Net!)
Should be very interesting to see how the African teams do with the tournament on their continent - guess we have 4 years to think on that one ...
