Actually at work I'm developing both a time tracking software and a project management system using C# and ASP.NET. I'm up to like 25000 lines of code in the time tracking and 8000 in the other. It interfaces into our accouting and email system too.

Very cool. If I could write 25 lines of code that would do anything at all, I'd take the rest of the day off, make a big drink and settle back and tell the dog how cool I am ...

Well its not that hard to code 25 lines.
In fact the industrial standard programmers only code like 25 lines an hour.(I think this figure includes debug time.) The lines counts above are over many hours during a year and a half.
A fact to boogle your mind, The Quake 3 engine was like over 3 million lines of code!

I started programming Basic on the Commodore64, it was real easy.
It would take someone only a week to learn and create some basic programs.

The stuff today is a bit tougher since you have to hunt for commands in the poorly written documentation.
