:P Palm is the dark side? Anyways Linux on the ipaq i used was very limited, because it had to be installed on the tiny rom. OF course i'm not very good with linux, and had a difficult time using it effectively. Also preformance on some of the basic things was not very good. However you are right about all the software avaible the problem is that the avaible ram i had on it probably wouldnt have let me run anything, outta 32 megs solely for ram i had 3 megs free. If i had installed it on a newer ipaq the experience probably would have been much better.

Also programming although i know how to program java, i havent done it in a long while :P lol It was fun tho when i did.

It's completely different when there's 64MB or more of RAM. I remember when I ran Redhat Linux on a computer with just 48MB of RAM... I was actually quite surprised how well it ran, although it disliked heavy applications...
Indeed, the extra cost of additional memory will likely be more than offset by eliminating M$ from the equation. Even if I had to pay an additional $30 for it, I would consider it well worth it. And my next PDA will run Linux.
If you really want to cope with little memory, try running Linux on a wireless router...

I voted "Yes, but I'm Back Now" before I realized this was a Palm vs PPC topic.
