Exclamation Fox news caught editing interview!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=oGqPxn7njqM&search=colbert

Here you can see a lovely example of how Fox news tries to make the democrats look worse at every turn.

Pretty lame if you ask me.

I think any thinking person would have seen trouble coming from a Colbert Report appearance and not done the interview. The congressman was a willing participant in something that was sure to be trouble. Dumb!

So he had a humorous interview on the colbert report... That means that Fox should clip him to make him look worse?

The Colbert report is funny (debatable) Fox took it out of context!

I think this is reaching a bit to say that fox news edited this to make the congressman look bad. I'd hazard a guess to say that it was edited it for time since this was a clip at the tail end of a show. I'd also guess that fox put this on, knowing full well it was a joke, just to have something funny at the end of the show. I doubt very much they did it to make democrats look bad, I mean, come on, who would believe that this was a serious interview.

IMO, the congressman was not using good judgement to even play along.

Also, I'm willing to bet you could find (without much effort) numerous instances where CNN, or any other liberal media for that matter, attempted to make republicans look bad. Happens everyday.

if he wasn't editied, would he still have said basically the same thing.

he thought it would be fun?

regardless of the editing or not. that's not the congressman's problem. just the fact that he said that those things were fun is his problem.

I've decided that talking to you is like smacking your head against a brick wall... It accomplishes nothing but headaches, so.. I won't be responding to your posts.

I'm not trying to bash or anything, i'm not against other points of view, but... I better just stop right there...

By the way, you should watch David Letterman's show some time... Greatness in presidential speeches.........

Let's be honest about this. The Colbert Report airs on the Comedy Channel, not on the Hard News Channel. The comment was made as part of a joke interview. Colbert and the Congressman, and everyone watching knew it was a joke.

Fox News got aired the clip knowing it came from the Comedy Channel, they even said so in the introduction. They are smart enough to know that it was a joke. Did they edit it? Maybe so. Maybe for time. Maybe just to add to the humor. But I do not think they believed it was anything other than a joke.

Maybe the Congressman erred by appearing on the Colbert Report, but hey, John Edwards launched his campaign for President on the Daily Show.

So, let's just agree that it was funny, that everyone involved knew it was a joke and that there was nothing more nefarious involved than that.

I agree. Except I haven't seen it, so I don't know if it was funny or not...

Good point Pebu. We'll just agree that it was supposed to be ( or intended to be) funny, but leave it to the individual viewer to decide whether it was actually funny. :)

Oh my! Loose lips sink ships.

Fun or not, the Congressman should have buttoned his lip.

If this was Bush instead of Wexlar, would you think what Fox did was fair? Be honest. They didn't "Maybe so" edit the clip, they EDITED THE DAMN CLIP. They did it to hurt Wexlar. If this was done to a republican, I could admit it was extremely unfair and done on purpose.

You can be a republican, but at least be honest with yourself. This is blatantly wrong. Despite who they did it to you shouldn't stick up for it.

Edit: Yes, what Wexlar did was pretty risky, and kinda foolish being a politician, but that doesn't make it OK to smear him with dishonest editing.

obviously this is part of a large conspiracy. (end sarcasm)

politicians don't need any help making them look stupid. if they had half a brain they'd be in private business.
