Exclamation Use Javascript? Prepare To Be 0wn3d

Not an Axim (or even PPC) issue, but...

Use Javascript? Prepare To Be 0wn3d

Note: for the second link, putting in the IP address for your network is quite safe... the IP address of your machine (or router) is sent every time you access the Internet anyway.

ya, javascript is buggy and lots of viruses run through it/other privacy invasions happen.

BUT, good AV can help that (trend catches all the attacks through Javascript I have seen) and Javascript is a very good langauge that is fairly simple and can do a lot!

And I should mention, it only picked up my gateway on my network :hide:

none of my other routers, computers, web servers, etc. :) :p

I set my default in ZoneAlarm Security Suite to block javascript. I can permit it on a site if I so choose.

I'm not sure what security context the script runs under. But it's concievable that the script will have access to any sites that the user does. Which could mean a lot of privileged info on a corporate intranet...
