Things change. What was a law for Newton is now a theory. Newton exists in linear physics. In Quantum Physics things are less clear. Freaky particles and light doing things for as yet unknown reasons. If I drop an apple on the the earth it will fall toward it. If I drop a quark on darkmatter will it fall? dunno.

I'll fall back to step one. Rampant Global warming caused by man made CO2 emmitting from the tailpipes of SUVs, is a theory. Neither Law nor fact. The earth warming to the point of becoming void of all life for said reasons is one theory. Not fact nor law. The whole deal being part of a stress experiment done by space aliens is theory. neither fact nor law. The earth warming in preparation to recieve the antichrist to begin the end times is a theory. neither fact nor law.

I think you missed my article on the difference between laws, theories, and hypotheses.

did not.

Those all still meet: " A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers"

"The whole deal being part of a stress experiment done by space aliens is theory."

What proven hypothoses is this based on? How many separate group of researchers have verified your "theory?"

The first had nothing to do with it.
The second is the worse source for anything I have ever seen.
The third is rediculously long.

I understand your desire to be a smarta$$, but seriously, it's not needed.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, pollution is still a huge problem.

I was about to say something rude, then I went back over my posts on this thread. You see I have said from the beginning that Polution is bad but most of that was on the other Global Warming thread, so I can see how you may have missed it.

Seriously dude, if this upsets you, then you have issues… Scared of space aliens maybe? Do you always beat up people who agree with you?

Reese, you are a funny guy. :)

I went to the link that you provided above. And it specifically says that the Law of Gravity is a Law. I provided the actual quote below.

They don’t really need any complex external proofs; they are accepted at face value based upon the fact that they have always been observed to be true.

Some scientific laws, or laws of nature, include the law of gravity, the law of thermodynamics, and Hook’s law of elasticity.

The other article that you mentioned is talking about other theories of gravity based on Newton's Law.

So, hopefully no one will need to get worried about if gravity is real or not. We aren't about to float into space, because Newton's Law of Gravity is still a Law. The theory that you are pointing to is an alternative one (and it even says in the article that there are flaws in the theory).

I thought it was funny. :approve: Everyone needs a good, healthy sense of humor. It makes the day so much better.

ok, now that I have you all thinking, not all thinking alike, that is good. if we all thought alike, we would be in trouble.

The tilt of the earths axis is real, flipping of the earths magneting poles is real also.

Every time we have had a major change in weather patterns, the movement of the north pole speed also has been increased. Is there a pattern or connection between the two? Yes there is.

Polution, no one likes polution, we are all agreed on that one, and it does affect the earth, we all agree on that.:approve:

Let the SUV thing go, There were studies shown, that before cars, the noxious gas from manure on the side of the road was causing weather problems. I've even read where all the gas emmited from cows was worse than the fumes from cars. What ever, it isn't good. Nature does somethings, and man does somethings. It would be better if man did less things, like polution. Unfortunately, man will polute some, today, we do, not saying it's a good thing, but we, it's for progress. The less we polute the better, we agree on that.

Gravity, as long as we are rotating about the earth's axis and the earth is rotating about the sun, we have gravity. If the earth's roatation stops, we are in trouble, we aren't going to stop rotating, so give that up too.

So, what this all boils down to...things happen, we can control some of it, and we should. To be blunt, now where did I set my Axim down, and what high score was my favorite game at?

If what upsets me? Who said I was upset about anything?

I am not scared of aliens, but I do believe in them.

Your post just confuses me on multiple levels...

it was an unfunny attempt by benots4 to make a theory look like a hypothosis. When infact, in science, a theory is as close to a law as you can get.
