do i have a dvd ram drive or is windows playing tricks on me?!?!?!

as i posted before i got a laptop yestreday, when you go to my computer, the drive icon says dvd ram, i put in a ram disk and it didnt work... it said dvd ram disc when i inserted it, so if according to acer i have a dvd burner with dual layer, and not ram, how come it is saying ram drive and being able to sense a ram disk.

also on a sidenote: i love my acer aspire 5003wmli

I dunno, I have a samsung burner + lightscribe + ram drive. Mine displays as a RAM drive in XP. I haven't tried the RAM discs but maybe you just need special software to set it up.

Maybe not a RAM drive but it could be able to detect and read them.
