According to the sources, Dell's TDC switched all PDA-related R&D resources to the notebook segment in the middle of 2005, following the company's plan of reducing the number of its R&D staff at its handheld device division at the end of 2004. Dell has not announced new PDAs for almost a year and PDA products that it currently offers are old models that were introduced in 2004, indicated the sources. In addition, the PC vendor has not shown any moves in the PDA phone and GPS-enable PDA segments, the sources noted.
Good luck with the update. I think dell is going to wait until people have given up on the update, and nev release it. The x50 is a great device. I guess dell just wants to stay in the pc/laptop business and doesnt care about their pdas.

The PDA market is pretty small I would think. I can see why they would move away from it. Maybe we will get lucky, and a pheonix will rise from the ashes of Dell and bring us a PDA from a company that has real tech support and provides patches/updates when the EU wants them.

Some us won't forget, nor buy other Dell products, either.
True, which is why most companies have bad support nowadays. They get low educated people in foreign countries with lower minimum wage to do tech support, (usually India). Once you buy a product, they're got the $, and thats all they care about.

Who cares if Dell is discontinuing the Axim line. HTC developed it (Dell branded it) and will continue to produce quality products and from what I hear we're going to see alot more of HTC branded products in the future.
