Agreed - go with the 400. Even 64MB go pretty quickly, so you can imagine how fast you'll fill up 32. Plus, CF & SD prices are dropping, so you'll be able to upgrade your memory in no time.
Get a CF or SD to load all of your stuff in, and you'll be fine with the 300. I haven't heard anyone give specific programs that WON"T run in the 300. Some people have alluded to maps/gps but never for sure.
You can buy a lot of stuff with the difference in price between the 300 and 400. For people who have the money, go ahead and get the more expensive one. For me I could justify the cost of the 300 but not the 400 so it was a case of get the 300 or don't get anything. I have had mine so filled with programs that I couldn't keep track of them all but it still ran fine.
I'm not sure of the price difference right now but if it is still about $100 I would go for the 300. I bought a 512MB CF card for $100 a while back so you can always add memory pretty cheap. Besides you could download turbotray and up your performance to 400 anyway.
I went for the 400 but I had the money to spend.
what are your other sources of income? Putting it another way....how long did it take you to save the $213 and is that your standard amount of time for being able to put money away?
Here's the way I look at all of my toy purchases.....if I can buy the upper level version of something and then grow into it (but not take forever doing it) then I will. It's nice knowing that I have the room to move around. However, if this is a "one shot and blow your wad" type deal, and it may take a long time (completely subjective) to be able to start tossing things onto your new toy, then you might want to go with the most bang for your buck option---lower end model, with accessories. Another option...keep your eyes open for refurbs?? I saw X5 Advanced models (refurbed) going for 189 today--90 day warranty and no cradle....woopty doo.
It's all a matter of what's important to you....and also, not only how much money you have now but how much money you'll have in the future. It never ends with these things....there's always "the next thing I'm gonna get for it." Get something you can be satisfied with. From what I've read of your previous posts, you're a younger guy (kid even??) You've got time to play. :-)

I completely agree. If your sole source of income is a 3 dollar a week allowance, get the 300 and some stuff to go with it. Think about it....you've got 32 megs of CF now but what about a modem? NIC? Screen protectors?? Software?? An Ax is just like a PC straight out of the box...it looks pretty cool when it's all setup but it does absolute jack squat until you give it some stuff to use.
