Way off Topic Or at least something I dont post too much about....

I ordered a Window AC unit online at Lowes.com and had it slected to Pick it up in Store, I ordered it after I came back from the store to see they had none in Stock...

Well a few hours later I see the site was updated and it says it's no longer in Stock, HOWEVER my Credit Card was charged in the Amount for the AC unit. I called the store up I was told to talk to the manger in the morning as the last batch of AC units they got from another store, and is unlikey they will do that again.


SO now where does this leave me? I asked him if they will be getting in anymore anytime soon, and he said he doubts it. If I'm right, Your not to charge a card for out of Stock items?

That is not right, Dell did this to me on a BT keyboard. This made me kinda mad, until I got a better deal so it was like I got a free case and car charger. Think that it is a extra oppirtunity to find a good bargin. I would get a refund and go find another one.

I'm going to have a talk with the manager tomorrow and Maybe might get lucky to have it shipped from another store, if not I will do a Chargeback.

First time I would ever have to do that since I had my CC. From what I understand stores hates chargebacks as it costs them.

Generally, most store policies are not to charge your card until the item actually ships. Your situation may be somewhat different since you checked pick it up in the store. Then, I think they charge your card when it is available at the store. Probably what happened was that they received a shipment, but never got around to marking one as sold for you.

I wopuld definately tell them to cancel your order and buy it from Home Depot.

Since you paid with a credit card, they should credit the amount back to your card if they don't have an AC unit for you. They can't keep your money without giving you the merchandise.
