Visual Studio 2005

Hey. I've got a pocket pc with Pocket PC 2002 on it. Will I be able to run applications I write with Visual Studio 2005? Thanks!

Not an expert, but I think it depends upon your compiler settings. Ya gotta tell it to compile for a legacy device.

Mad

OK, thanks. I'm not in too much of a hurry because I need a memory card. The framework won't just fit on the Axim.

'Fraid you are out of luck. The 2.0 framework needs at least wm2003.

See here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...n#Requirements

Yeah, I upgraded to WM2003 today though. :-) Turns out the framework is only 5 megs! Woot! It fit and I have almost finished my first app!

I am pretty sure you can tell VS 2005 to use CF 1 instead of CF 2. If you want to program for PPC 2002, though, you really should use eVB.

i'm sure you could, but since it comes with CF 2, i'm hard pressed to determine where that setting might be.

and yes, if you're using only 2002, you'll need eVB or eVC to write apps. check out the developer tools sticky with links.
