Distributing Completed Programs

I was curious about how developers distribute their programs. I have been into Windows programming with VB for some time now, and I would like to start getting into Mobile Programming, but I have no idea what the best meathod is of distributing a program (Shareware programs, of course).

I'm not a developer but I do purchase. If I see a program that I like, I would buy from any of the sources you listed above.
