Yep. I did a little analysis when the Hondia Insight first came out, like in 1998 or so, and calculated that you would have to drive one 12k miles a year, paying $2 per gallon of gas, for 20 years, to make up the difference in price between that and a similarly equipped Honda Civic. Of course, next gen. Toyota Prius is supposed to get some really astonishing rating, like 80+mpg and gas is hovering between $2.50 and $3 lately, so that time of operation should come down.

I sure wish I could buy the car that runs on my own sense of smug self-satisfaction.

And I just heard a report on XM radio that the prices are going to continue to come down to about 2.00 around November. November eh? Right around election time. Shocking!

2.59, in my area just came home.

I'll be suprised when it gets into the mid $1.00. but i'm not to hopeful about that. I'll be happy if it hovers somewhere around the $2.00 mark
