Who's smarter? Tall or Short people

I heard about a study(I think at princetown or yale) where two students compared job status, height, salary, intelligence,......

and came up with a conclusion.

Alot of people think that Tall people get better jobs because of this auroa of being more stable, secure, strong........ well the study found out that in general Tall people are smarter than Short people.

so it's not just a unconsiuous decision that puts taller people ahead of short people...

oh and this is in general, if your short dont post something along the lines of "i'm short and i'm smart...." "IN GENERAL" tall people are more intelligent than short people.

So, is that tall/short American? Or tall/short around the world?

Like people in Africa for example (which in general are tall), and Asians (which are generally shorter). So who's smarter on those two groups?

I think I would want to read the study before I even tried to comment on this since your post is based on a second (or fifth) hand account from an unknown group (maybe Princetown, Yale or someone else completely) who may or may not have done this study. Was there any pear review of this, what number was the sample group and where did they locate their samples?

So please link to something real for us to comment on if you want any meaningful feedback.

You can manipulate any study to produce the results you want - just have to filter the test group, etc.

So yeah, the study would have to be statistically valid and significant and well-done to have any merit. But most people don't care or know enough about statistics to delve into the details.

I've heard that there is actually no difference in intelligence between short people and tall people. However, taller short people tend to better adapt to society while short short people have problems, although medium sized short people make the best dog owners.

Just annother example of stupid statistics. Being an engineer my first reation is always where is the data, and my moto "Question Everything". I saw this on the news also.

Studies like this don't show that tall people are smarter than short people. It shows that there are more tall people who are smart than there are short people. And thats using the term "smart" loosely of course. One may not have anything to do with the other or it may have everything to do with the other. Statistics are what you make of it. In one of my english classes we practiced using the same information to convince somebody of two opposing ideas. It's all how you report it.

;)

Are you tall or short? :)

(Couldn't resist, sorry. I'm short. But not sensitive about it. Not overly anyway!)

This reminds me of one of my teachers also. He was convinced there was a divide between tall and short people. He called it "height-ism". If you made fun of how tall (or lack thereof) he was you were a "height-ist". I liked that guy, he was pretty funny.
