I feel like that character in that movie who after being fired after 20+ years is cheerful and is asked by his boss if there is anything he can do. The response is, "Well, I certainly hope you die soon".

Actually, between ThunderBird and the Zone Alarm Security Suite 99.999999% of the junk mail I get is correctly identified as junk and is automatically routed to my Junk Mail Folder.
That misses the point.
The point being that I don't want to get it in the first place!

Well, then, I can't help you, except to file a lawsuit (jk).
And for some reason, Zone Alarm Security Suite doesn't filter junk in Outlook! GRR. The mail, still ends up in Outlook's own junk mail.
AKAJohnDoe, this is a little bit off topic, but can you use Challenged Mail in Thunderbird? I don't really like Outlook anyways. But I don't want to switch unless you can do challenged mail. You know, like if an unknown sender mails you, it sends a mail back, and they have to click on a link to verify that its a person, not a computer?

I do not use challenged mail. It is my belief that even those spam that are not sent by a machine are not sent by a person, and I will not acknowledge their existence.

i keep getting these wired messages that are made to look liek soem tech letter but they say things like "the sink mounts on the case wit the heat pipes and the drive gllued...." basically making no sense at all.. i will see if i have one to show..
They put the "apparently" irrelevant text in the spam, to bypass the spam filters.
It tries to full the spam filter into thinking that it is an actual conversation or whatever.

Okay, but is there an option to at least enable it?

Within ZoneAlarm, yes; within ThunderBird, no.
However, since POP3/SMTP is external to ThunderBird, ZoneAlarm, and OutLook for that matter, I tried setting the challenge in ZoneAlarm to High and it had no effect. I then tried setting the SMTP server, account and password that ZA was to use to send the challenge and clicked on the "Send Test Email" button and got an error that my setting were wrong in some way.
I personally do not have much faith that this works as advertised; however, if you want to persue it, the ZoneLabs User Forum might be a good place to start your searching.
This was with ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 6.5.737.000 and ThunderBird 1.5.0.5 (20060719).

no saying that your email account is a real account. They randomly send mails and most addresses they come up with are no good.
Known to be real addresses are more valuable to spammers
