Or "I use OS X so don't care" ;)

Actually my PC is capable of home and business I think. Needs a video upgrade for the cool effects. 2.8GHz PIV Prescott, 768MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200 (from memory).

I have a crappy pre-built IBM that can run Ultimate however..... I am building a new computer around Dec/Jan and hopefully there will be a Vista OEM I can get with my system

Ran the Vista PC checker. Can run any version ov Vista, Ultimate and down.

I am a bit skeptical however, perhaps some MS hype "built in."

Sure, you ran the Vista checker, run out and upgrade your OS.
I doubt it, XP Pro runnin' fine.

I never ran the advisor. I have been testing it for 6+ months though. It runs fairly well on my:

AMD64 3200+
2GB RAM
ATI 6400GT 256MB graphics
Audigy 2 Platinum Pro sound card
(2) - 300GB SATA PRT HDD (Striped RAID-0)

BTW, RC1 is a great improvement on beta 2. It is much faster and more stable. There are lots of apps that will not run on Vista RC1 yet.

I must not be geeky enough because I have never heard of vista besides on here. I know absolutely nothing about it. Oh, and I still run 2kpro at home. I still like 2k better than xp.

I have never bought an OS upgrade.I just buy new computers with it already installed.I will wait untill Vista has been out for 6-12 months and by that time I will be ready for a new computer anyway.I never buy software when it first comes out because it usually has to many bugs.

My Dell is not powerful enough to run Vista. I will be building a new computer later on, and might get Vista then, or I might wait and install Linux or something until the prices go down.

Definitely not going to upgrade to Vista, may go with Vista on a new PC once they release SP2. Until then, I will be using the ultra-stable XP Pro. Probably with an upgraded system before year's end.
