If it works, don't worry.

I dunno, but sometimes the BIOS will only see it as a ata133 for compatability but then there are drivers in windows that get it up.

ata and Sata are two totally different cables. So you couldn't have messed up there.

First thing is that I would get a program like Sandra Benchmarking and get detailed specs of what is registering with your PC. Maybe your bios is reading it incorrectly, but windows see's it fine.

Then see if your motherboard supports sata150? And see if there are updates to the bios.

its defently not a hardware problem, i am externly expenced with working with the ineerds of computers. the mb is a 775dual vista. one thign is that during windows installation it said "press f6 to install scsi or raid drivers" i do have a raid floppy but i figured i wouldnt need it since windows setup detected it....

You already said it boots fresh in under 12 seconds. No worries, mate. Probably, Windows just doesn't know what to call it, so says 133 for compatibility purposes. Probably will detect correctly with next SP or Vista.
P.S. how many SATA drives do you have?

There was a better deal at Fry's. 400GB 7200RPM SATA/300 for $100, without a rebate.

Yes, I actually bought one. Now I'm waiting for Gentoo to compile (stage1 started yesterday) so I can use it. (If only I had a R410a-cooled Britney...)
