For future reference, ebay will *never* send you an email with a link to log in. It is always a scam. They may send you an email *telling* you that you need to go to the site to log in, but will never send an in-line log in URL. That is always a scam (the same goes for PayPal, most financial institutions, etc..)

I recently got a 'Second Offer' to purchase an item, supposedly from ebay. However, I knew it had to be phishing, since I had won the item in the auction first time around! Guess the phishers were hoping I wasn't paying attention. No to mention the email/ID of the seller was different on the second offer... duh!

I always check 'My Messages' under 'My Ebay' to make sure an email is legit from ebay.

My hubby gets emails from 'PayPal', usually 3 or 4 times a year, telling him he needs to log into his account and correct some info there, or his account will be cancelled. Funny thing is he doesn't have a PayPal account.
