It is research that is guaranteed to delight men - and infuriate the women in their lives. A controversial new study has claimed that men really are more intelligent than women.
The study - carried out by a man - concluded that men's IQs are almost four points higher than women's.
British-born researcher John Philippe Rushton, who previously created a furore by suggesting intelligence is influenced by race, says the finding could explain why so few women make it to the top in the workplace.
He claims the 'glass ceiling' phenomenon is probably due to inferior intelligence, rather than discrimination or lack of opportunity.
Well then, I guess that settles that.

On second thought, there could be something to this. Initially, there is the same ratio of stupid to average and gifted individuals, divided between the sexes. However, stupid men face an additional hazard to those faced by stupid women; testosterone. In this way, the culling of stupid people heavily favors men, bringing up the average!

I might be inclined to believe it if intelligence explained why ANYONE made it to the top in the workplace.
I, however, subscribe to the Dilbert Principal. The intelligent ones are needed in the rank-and-file to get some actual work done. The dumb ones are promoted to get them out of the way.

Guys, there is a big difference between "having intellect" and "being wise" many times they don't even go hand in hand in real life. A person considered "stupid" by the general public (for whatever reason) can act in a quite wise fashion, and naturally vice versa. Just take a deeper look at the individual's personal life and habits of whom you guys are quoting who are considered to be 'highly intellectual" do they live a truely WISE life and lifestyle but whatever measures you want to measure that.
[EDIT] Now the other side of the coin of this "higher IQ" of men would be whoever has more intellect it would be the obvious step to DEMAND & EXPECT more from him/she/it(? ;)) than from the one(s) of lower IQ, if the end result shows the opposite (not stating it does but raising a question) then the one(s) with the higher IQ would in fact be using LESS of his/her potential, hence be LESS WISE....or no?
I believe women can and do have more projects active simultaneously than men, and men is better at focusing at the task at hand.
IQ test - concentration on one thing (and "focused imagination"(my expression)).
So - in terms of computer science - Women have more threads than men, but the same processor. (For the computer illiterate - Women can do more things at the same time than men, but men can do fewer things at the same time a bit better).
Some possible reasons:
Women have periods - Men don't
Women become pregnant - Men don't
Women are weaker than men (weak ppl need to think more)
Women get infertile at a certain age - Men doesn't
We men only need to surf through life without a care in the world biologically speaking. Women has loads on their minds.
