ABF, sorry to hear about your troubles. However, congratulations on making a post I could understand on the first read.:approve: I'm not making fun of you; I just really appreciate it when people spend the little extra time to use reasonable spelling and grammar and I don't have to work too hard trying to understand what they're saying.:)

You seem to have bad luck ABF. In all my years dealing with computers, I've ever seen a power supply do those kind of things. Do you use any type of surge suppression or UPS. If you have bad power coming into you house, with a lot of spikes and brownouts, this might be what is causings all your power supply and other hardware problems.

Also, just as a safety note to others, be careful when opening a power supply. There is enough energy stored in some of those capacitors to do some real harm to yourself.

I've used them for years too. have a Antec Smartpower 350W in my comp and it's been cranking for a year now. But personally, I have not been that impressed, I just don't think it puts out 350W. Buy an Antec Truepower and you'll have better luck

Rewire the fans directly to 12v. It seems like the thermal engineers at Antec don't really know what they're doing.
