In Illinois I got one for free with excellent free training from professionals through a program sponsored by Northern Illinois University. I'm sure something like that exists where you live. The idea behind it is to properly train riders to be the best they can be. I found the training I received years ago invaluable.

As an old fart who rides an old fart bike, I suggest you stick to the ones with three wheels and push pedals. They're allot safer.

I just sold two of my bikes. I knocked up my fiance and with a baby due in a month, riding is a risky chance I don't want to take.

I never wrecked but always came close. Riding a motorcycle is very dangerous. Riding one is easy... but its the other idiots that don't know how to drive. They barely see people in cars... let alone bikes.

Trust me they are bad. Most bike riders do not ride in the city but out on country roads where traffic is minimal.

And words of wisdom my daddy told me. He said, "Going down on a bike isn't a matter of IF, but a matter of WHEN." Anyone who rides bikes has a slew of horror stories. I discourage young kids from riding (anyone under 30 years). I'm 23 and I'm just as guilty. But you get behind a bike and being young and stupid, you want to go 200mph. Wait till your old enough to drive a car and go from there, unless you want one of those dorky motor scooters.

This would be fun though
