BTW: to anyone who is woundering i am usign the thamos and cosmos(?) fual cell car kit this is noty one of the experiments in the book but instead i decided to do this one after seeing hydrogen explode in a test tube. if you have one of these kits and you try this i may not be held responsible for damage however if you are still intent then here are the directions.
ONE. fill the outer tank of the car with water about half way
TWO. fill the fual cell and connect the solar cell to the fual cell
THREE. put the tubes in their respective tanks (hydrogen to hydrogen, oxygen to oxygen)
FOUR, put the car in a sunny spot and wait until the hydrogen tank is filled (with hydrogne) to the 18 line on the tank.
FIVE. suck a little water out of the outert tank until the outer tank water level is at about the 18 line too
SIX. light a LONG candle and with your other hand pull the hydrogen tube out of the tank
SEVEN. move the flame of the candle over the tank and into the hole until it explodes.

it may take a bit of practice but it sure looks cool when it finall explodes.

yes i know, however, when i lit it i ducked behide the conterand closed my eyes. the safty goggles it came with were crap.

what does it use for the annodes? last time i homebrewed something like this i used copper wire, and it (of course) oxidized pretty quick and reduced the effectiveness of the end

Not to be a critic of your thirst for knowledge, but don't you think things that go "bang" are best suited for the outdoors? Hope you have the fire department on speed dial.

nope, it is fual cell. kinda like electrosis but not the same.

Hydrogen is a lot of fun if you're careful. I still remember the day when Jessica Simpson and I made a mini rocket powered by hydrogen and oxygen. ( 2H2(g)+O2(g)->2H2O(g) or 2 parts hydrogen gas + 1 part oxygen gas -> 2 parts dihydrogen monoxide gas)
