Question study music - non-tradational college student

I am taking on-line college classes as a non-traditional student. I already work full time, so this will be nights and weekends. :)

Most of the material is self study, with a lot of writing to take the place of verbal conversation. The actual assignment schedule is fairly intense.

Years ago I use to listen to classical music. There is an underlying theory that it is not the music itself, but the rhythmic pulse of approximately 60 beats per minute that produces alpha waves in the brain, which lead to a state of relaxation and reflection that aids in the retention of information.

At any rate, I am looking for any advice you may have.

I need something to help me concentrate, but it needs to be something that will not 'demand' my attention.:rolling:
