Sometimes I feel like I should be a moderator, considering all the time i spend at this site. But, i dont have a desire to become a moderator anymore. This site is equal and balanced.:D
i think he went about it the wrong way,,dont say i SHOULD be....ask 1st..send chris a message and ask what it takes to become a mod and go about it in a way of "hey..id like to help on this site" instead of making it sound like u deserve it. and esspecially dont go about it with the race or background card..."all you have is white people",dont try to play that card. we all come here for the enjoyment of the ax...and thats it. if u think of it...the web..and this site..is the 1 place where people all over the world, any color, any country, and race,sex,age....ANYONE..can get together peacefully in a save place and have fun, talk, learn, share and help each other....cant do that in a public place without alot of legal mumbo jumbo laws and protests and all that crud...so take it as it is..chris started this site for 1 reason...to help fellow aximites!!
and speaking of web pages....to turn things a bit...how many people have aximsite.com as their home page on their ax...or what is your home page on your ax....not to kissy kissy,,,but mine is this at home, work and my ax!!
who luvs ya??!!

OK, manoosie wasn't trying to become a Mod, he was making a point about a Supreme Court ruling. He used Aximsite.com as an example. This thread wasn't about him becoming a mod. I'm going to change the title to reflect this.
Originally posted by manoosie I am in law, and i just read the decision about michigans law school (58 pages long). And according to that, they think "by enrolling a 'critical mass' of underrepresented minority students, the law school seeks to "ensure their ability to make unique contributions to the character of the law school."
Do you think that principle doesnt apply here? Think again. The supreme court (who is a lot smarter than you) says "these benifits are not theoretical but real, as major American businesses have made clear that the skills needed in today's increasingly global marketplace can only be developed through exposure to widley diverse people, cultures, ideas, and viewpoints."
Isnt that what we aim for here? "The goal of the site was to provide a wonderful resource for myself and others to enjoy" That requires diversity, and out of the 20 members of aximsite.com's staff, it appears there is not a single african-american, hispanic or native american.
Diversity. That is the supreme court's and my reason why i should be a moderator.
I'm an old-fart white guy leading a small technical team. Every time we went to hire somebody, I interviewed the candidates and hired the best. As it happens, I have two black women, a chinese man, and a white man working for me. Does this make me good? No. If I had found all white guys, would I be bad? No. Does it add diversity to our team? Frankly, no. Would we be better off or worse off if we had all white guys? I don't know, but the conversation would be rather boring. It does give us the best people that were available. We work hard, and we have some fun. And, I must say, we have one hell of a team. It's just the way it happened. The Supreme Court had nothing to do with it. Neither did any lawyers. Neither did the personnel department.
This site is a lot like my team. There's freaks of all types, and even a few normal people. All kinds of interests. All kinds of hobbies -- even ESPN. And if you have a PPC question, this is a great place to come and get a little support and some good answers. I vote for staying on topic.

Is that slander? :)
I dont know about the internet and whether someone could sue for stuff. That is a totally new topic to the legal world. But, when it comes to employment, there is plenty of law behind that. Just because you are a private company doesnt mean you can hire who ever you want. I agree with you guys, but the sad truth is actions speak louder than words, and if you dont have color in your company that looks really bad in the courts.
I know there must be lawyer forums out there where discussions about race and racism can happen with ~90% support of the forum members. Axims don't work differently if we are young, old, black, white or based on what we believe - only whether we are left handed or not:p .
However, there are legal issues in regards to this site and I therefore, refer you to the Coppa discussion where lawyers can be put to work...

oh for God's sake....honestly...why did you start a thread like this? I don't know of any MOD that would stir up this kind of crap and still expect to be a MOD. If there really is a point to this thread can we get to it any time soon?
This is an Aximsite community...not a freakin legal forum.
