Do your homework, learn what you could expect would earn with your experience, for that position, for that area. When
they ask
you about salary, reply,
"I am ready to hear your offer for compensation."
Then shut-up and listen. Give the 'hot potato' back to them. Only after they fall silent should you counter-offer, and follow it up with a
why you deserve that amount.
