I just tried out Pocket Mechanic for my x50v, of course my x50v is quickly becoming a paper weight much to my dismay.
I love all the things that it does on the ppc but would like one for a pc since it looks like I will be getting a laptop/notebook to replace the x50v that is dying.
I will but it keeps crashing and I can't afford to lose the 3 years of work info on it. So until I figure out another option it just stays plugged in at home and does little or nothing.
This one seems to be working great on my PC,
Next Question:
I use Sprite backup full version or whatever it's called.
That thing is awesome. Do a hard reset and just click it and a couple minutes later I'm up and running exactly as before.
As I get things put on the home PC is there a program that will do this?

Make an image with "dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/sda", where hda is your internal hard drive and sda your external hard drive (must be same capacity). To restore, boot into Knoppix and run "dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/hda".

I use Norton Ghost to make an image of my C Drive. I store it on another Hard drive (D drive) that I use just for file storage but depending on the size of your image you could back up to DVD or DVD+DL if you have the technology.
I find Norton Ghost to be bloody awesome, I have a reminder to do a backup every month and it's not let me down yet. One thing I keep meaning to do the next time I have to do a reformat-reinstall is make an image backup to DVD of just the OS, updates and drivers once they are installed without any other software being installed. That way for future mishaps or reformats it's a hell of a lot quicker to reinstall a ghost image than reinstall the OS. And yes, you can actually use Norton Ghost by booting form the CD and reinstalling from there, so in effect can do onto a clean hardrive.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, haven't heard of Knoppix, Axim is better after a hard reset and only restoring PIM data. I don't dare try to sync it to the knew home pc, I don't know why but activesync or something keeps crashing the old home pc.
I'll check out Norton Ghost, sounds like something I could actually use. I barely know what I'm doing as it is so easy is good.
