Lol, I just tipped the balance to Vista. Have you guys looked at it? It looks fantastic.. how can I not upgrade. Home Premium it is for me... now to save up..
Damn, I just checked the price on Amazon UK. Vista Premium is £225. I guess its XP for now until the price drops (fingers crossed) or when there's a OEM version.

Have you used it? If you had, you'd know the "looks" make it perform worse than a machine loaded with spyware and viruses.
Interestingly, if you turn off all the crap, it performs almost as well as an XP machine.
I'm curious, though, if anyone has come up with any technical reasons to upgrade. As far as I can tell, the only major benefit Vista offers is a graphical make-over. Microsoft's reasons on their web site are all either lame or easily emulated in XP with the help of free tools (or better tools). There are some corporate reasons ... but all the problems of compatability make corporate rollouts unlikely (in the near-term).

I voted 'yes' coz' I don't really think that anyone has a choice. However, if the upgrade is anything like the WM5, I think I'll sit this out until the dust settles down some.

It will be like wm5, even if it will look "amazing". Under the hood there will be loads of crap.
I heard that vista will only let you upgrade your computer only one time.(hardware)
If so, that's ridiculous. That's just another way Micro$oft controls the world's pocketbook.
That WAS the case, but the terms have been modified, and no longer the case as you mentioned above. Well, it is the case for OEM but not the "bought" versions.
