ATTN: Home Theatre geeks!

I noticed that the Scarface DVD supports both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1.

Any significant difference between the two? I heard that DTS is better, is that right?

DTS is better. I'm not an audiophile, but I do hear a difference between the two. When given a choice I choose DTS, but I don't snub a dvd if it only has dolby digital.

Thanks. So it's like the difference (at least hypothetically) between say a 128kb/s audio file and a 192kb/s audio file. In theory, if not in quantity.

The strange thing is that the Scarface DVD defaults to the Dolby 5.1. Narnia has both Dolby and DTS but has an option in the menu to enable DTS. And it is decoded correctly as DTS.

Is that normally the case, that you'd select the DTS track in the menu? Any idea why Scarface would seem to not have it? I'll go and have another look. Just seemed odd.

EDIT: Found it - they just hid it in the special features menu....

You should have all the audio selections in the "audio setup" part of the dvd.

Edit: Glad you found it. Have fun.
