So my PS2 died the other day. I knew it was on its way and wanted to jump to a next gen console but didn't want to move to the 360 until the PS3 was out.
But - after doing a feature comparison on the PS3 vs the 360, and taking into account the disgraceful sales launch by SONY and the high pricing, I've purchased a 360 instead.
Good one SONY. If you'd launched the product with some actual STOCK then there's still a good chance I would have a PS3 sitting at home in my cabinet. But as it is, my $ when to Mickeysoft instead.
I have to say though that I'm impressed with the 360. The XBOX Live is pretty neat. I still don't like having to pay for online services, but taking in 2 years of XBOX Gold service it's STILL cheaper than PS3. It'll be interesting to see how the games on the two platforms compare 6-12 months from now. The new GTA will be especially interesting for platform comparison.

From what I have seen and heard the XBOX 260 is MUCH better than the PSP 3. I think you made the right choice.

The cost is about the same if you factor in the HD-DVD attachment vs built-in Blu-Ray. The winner of the format war is still to be determined. It might not even matter.
As for gaming--it's all in your taste. Do you like Halo or Final Fantasy? There are certain developers who will only make games for a certain system. But the gap is changing. Look at Grand Theft Auto going to the Xbox. But you will never see Halo 3 going to the PS3! Like I said, it's all in your gaming taste.
PS 3 is black and Xbox 360 is White - So, that means you have move to the lighter side, and not the dark side. lol.
Anyway, good choice! :approve:

Well my duaghter wanted a PS3 for Christmas, mainly to play DDR. When i realized the cost (and so did she) we opted for a PS2. I do like the fact that the PS3 has the Blue-Ray capability. But I couldn't justify the cost of a PS3 or 360 just for her and her friends to dance (although I ordered Tiger Woods Golf and debating about Madden 07).
The last time I played Madden was in 95 on an old windows 3.1 machine. Played the whole season while I was on vacation between Christmas and New Years.

I loved Madden since the Genesis version. I hate Madden for the 360! The regular Xbox version is better and has features I like (individual defensive player assigments) and easy hot routes. Playing Madden on Live sucks too. There's no safe guard installed - meaning if you're up by 21 points, it'll allow you to onside kick or go for the first down on 4th. Xbox and PS2 online doesn't allow cr@p like that (cheesy 'rubbing it in' mentality). I turned my copy in for store credit after playing 5 games.
For action games--there's nothing like Halo or Gears of War! Best looking game and blows away Resistance for the PS3. C'mon Sony, another WWII theme with aliens thrown in?!
