it was being talked about on talk radio so I doubt it's a fake story.
So talk radio is the gold standard for journalism?

these legislations give far too much power to the few. Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to live free and in harmony but lets face it the systems are open to abuse and that's what happens.

I am not surprised that Christianity is dying off over here in the UK. Multiculturalism and liberalism has come at the expense of the masses identity.

Albajoe so How is that Humanism working out for you. I really find it interesting. It really seems like a doomed experiment to me but then anything can have some success. Also isn't it interesting that Multiculturalism means all are excepted except the original.

Really Xmas is the one day a year we really celibrate peace and good will. Think about it, we go to office parties with people we cant stand and drink with them, we buy presents for the obnoxious people arournd us, we go and eat with family members we would not visit under normal conditions. We generate a large amounot of Love and understanding. Just for a little while, one day maybe. And there really can be almost no religion to it. I am not going to go to church. I quit going a couple of years back on holidays because I got sick of the topic being about how we only come on holidays. You know it is the only place that on Xmas I do not feel welcome. Anyway, inflate the giant Snowman, put a colored light on and give the mail man a fuit cake. Yep, I can see why somebody could be offended and not want to participate. How many other holidays say "we don't really care if you are a member, come and party, we love you. (at least today)

Peace. mahn

when did I say it was the gold standard? why are you so defensive of liberal journalists?

when multiple radio talk shows pick up this story that means that multi teams of people have to see if this story is real or not. if 3/4(and the other is a consumer show), on my specific station, pick up the story(after going thru it first) then I'm 100% sure its valid.

I don't think the ACLU would touch this with a 10 foot pole. A Santa hat is not a religious icon, it's more secular, but Christmas is Christian no matter which way you slice it. If there's one thing the ACLU cannot stand, it's Christianity, IMHO.

Yes... because we know that talk radio would never let the truth get in the way of a good story...

Why all the attacks on JMJ. This all started when FSMan posted "This is probably a bogus story written to get the dander up of the "I hate political correctness" crowd" and JMJ responded he thought it was real because he heard it on talk radio. It went down hill from there with posts making ascertions that JMJ did not make. It's Christmas, OOOPS, I mean the Holiday Season, why don't you guys just lighten up. Some people take serious offense when others donl't agree with them. My two cents ...

It was meant in fun, JMJ. I believe that it is healthy (and usually wise) to question.

Xmas for me personally is when I can really focus on my family and yes we do end up meeting, buying gifts and conversing with friends, family and neighbour alike that normally we don't see/ speak to much. Me ? I love it. It provides a platform or perhaps an excuse to heal rifts, consolidate relationships and fire up the community.

It isn't all religion but I am a christian and the one time a year I want to embrace it then let me be. I may be a bus driver, director or chimney sweep but if I feel that wearing a daft xmas hat brings some festive cheer to me and the people around me then so be it ! I wouldn't dare to criticize other peoples regions.

My little one has been so excited since the start of the month and through her I can relive the excitement of laying out the milk and cookies and anticipation on xmas morning that I had when a bairn.

lets face it, you get out of xmas what you put into it. If your negative about it then what do you expect ?

Merry xmas to you all and I hope that Santa brings all that you deserve ; )

Never said you did. Just asked a question.

I did not defend any journalist. Liberal or otherwise.

Not sure which talk radio you listen to, but most I have heard (both liberal and conservative) are opinion oriented and have a small research staff if any at all.
Saying I heard it on talk radio is almost like saying I read it on the Internet

The story is yet another example of bad journalism. One-sided stories should be taken with a grain of salt. The story is incomplete.
