So i'm sitting here in my room...

And man I am having the hardest time opening this soda can. The little metal clip on the top just doesn't let me get under it. I ended up using my house key to pry the little thing up.

Has anyone else had this problem? I had it happen a lot when I was little, but it appears to be getting worse !

Frenchie! You didn't mention your age or physical condition(s).

Can you see the pop-top tab still?

Hail from just a bit south of Allentown, other side of the state.

Why not try screw cap bottles? Save the keys!

Soda? What baking? That comes in a box. Take your thumb and push were it says push here to open and pull back. Keep pushing with your thumb until the box folds or your finger nail rips off. Then cut it off with a dull rusy knife..... the box top not your thumb.

What brasses me off is when the ring pulls off and leaves the tab firmly in place.

I think Frenchie is referring to a "soft drink" can, such as a Coke or Pepsi. Some call it "pop", some call it "soda".

Check here for an explanation of this phenomenon.

what I hate isn't the difficulty of opening the can but the soda always splashing on my hand. I can't figure out how not to get coke on my hands

Hey there! I had grandparents that live in Coopersburg and I would always head over to Allentown and Bethlehem to shop. Man I miss going to the Mahvarion (sp?) Bookstore.

I'm actually quite young seventeen to be exact. I think I am the only one in my entire city that calls soda pop "soda".

I'm still having this problem! I like keeping my nails trimmed so I think i'll just use my car keys to open the darned things.

Oh, I get it. I gave up drinking Pop/Soda/Coke when I discovered that Beer has fewer calories and more nutrients. Its also easier to open, just bust the neck off on the curb.

Never called soda "pop." Guess my NY upbringing.

Coopersburg! I had a bid in on Mr. Cooper's home. BIG, 6000 sq. ft., lots of space.
Sorry but, Coopersburg had restrictions for sewer and water hookups so, moved into a barn instead, just a few miles from Coopersburg, PA.
5K sq. ft., built in 1894, totally renovated (click on image for a slightly larger view).

Mr. Cooper was English, very big player in both dairy and beef, cattle, very interesting history 'bout Coopersburg.

I like that house!

I like driving through the country side down there. The quaint little houses, farms, and inns. It's so dull up here. All I have is this stupid peninsula that resembles a certain male reproductive tool.

I was born in Pittsburgh so Soda pop is well Soda and chocolate sprinkles are chocolate jimmys :-P

Edit: When I am of age I'll start Benots ;-)

The ladies with long nails ( French Manicure) will appreciate your thoughts too. For all women let's discuss more ways to offer mobile beverage with an innovative top.

First question would you pay more for a can with a key?

I didn't think you were still around. I have stated previously that I was going to report all your posts as spam but as this one seems fairly harmless I don't think I'll bother.
Happy New Year to you anyway.

An election is every 4 years, make the best of it and think about the fifth.
