Ok here is my little rant!


Here in my tiny insignificant town we have this giant suburb road called peach street and this is where the mall and every outlet you can think of is. Well I happen to work at the mall so getting to and from this place during the Christmas season is a total pain! Well yesturday i had it. I'm not sure what this is called in larger cities but every time I go up there there is always this one driver that goes through the intersection and stops halfway through. But the next light farther down the road has not changed to green yet so this guy was sitting in the middle of the intersection. I am in the front so the light turns green but I have nowhere to go since this guy was blocking traffic!



GAHHH That is so annoying! I'm writing an editorial to the paper.

We call that "normal" lol

Yeah it's bloody annoying. But what can you do apart from move up with your hand on the horn... It also happens the other way. I've had someone honk at me because I DIDN'T enter a blocked intersection. Unreal.

I could almost remember that there was a law against this in New York City. If you got caught you'd be fined like some ungodly amount.

That is called "blocking the box" and it can earn the blocker a ticket in most locales.

Like a lot of driving related things, it really does not affect me in any way anymore. I decided that my inner peace and blood pressure were not going to be determined by others. I will get to where I am going when I get there.

It is like the "time savings of speeding". Over a 10 mile trip, at a constant speed, you will "save" all of 11.7 minutes by going 45 vs the posted 25. Worth it?

Well, in our town, we don't have anything like that, it's pretty quiet until we get downtown

The only dumb drivers in our city are a few old people on scooters. I really don't mind them driving around but some of them try to run you over and you know that it's intentional because they give you the evil eye afterwards. I love the elderly but a few of them are hard even to respect.

What I also hate (and this only really happens in large cities with grid lock) is when your blocking the box(yes I'm guilty) and your nice and let the other road go cause there is some space for them and then your light turns green but they run the red light and the people behind you honk their horns like crazy when they can clearly see that I can't move because there is cars like 5 feet in front of me...

I hate driving in atlanta.

Not to worry the person probably had to change the frequency of their radio. Did you eventually get through?

Yeah I did so I guess that is all that count :approve:

Also to phendric 11.7 minutes can mean the difference between being late or on time then again if I manage my time efficiently...

It's amazing how influential a baseball bat can be when encountering drivers who block the intersections.
