Exclamation LINUX ON AXIM | We need a section in forum home!
Linux on axim project seem kinda dead,

Some good thing were done by fisherr and Kai to try to get linux working on the X50/X50v but WiFi/Bluetooth still not working.

I think that a new section in the forum home for the porting effort would be real great. We could communicate some precious information that way. Their is already a mailing list on http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/DellAximX50 but it's not enough.

why not use the existing linux forum here?

well maybe if somebody used it... then it would gain more visibility...

sure.... linux on axim is not for everyone....
i will try to get it working tomorrow on my x50v and will see what i could do for the project.... but I still think that a section in the Home forum would be great for the visibility of the linux porting effort

don't get me wrong.. I've dabbled in PDA linux before.. And there is a huge potential there for some (but obviously not all) users.

It's just the axim project did get a bit bogged down (partly to Dell not being helpful).

And it was a bit quite over there the last time I looked. If there have been some major breakthroughs.. if Opie/GPE is viable then Wow... but I think we're still some way away from that position (I'd be very happy to be wrong though)

When that happens then linux forum here will come alive. It will make front page news.. but not yet.

Of course if the porting team could give us some updates.. or use this forum to ask for help/input then that would be useful./

yeah thats true.... well I don't know what opie look like, and I dont really care about GUI.... i was just thinking that running linux program like aircrack or wireshark on a x50v would be real cool ;)
I started a new thread in the linux section for the x50v//x50
That should be a good start...
