Not sure about the first, but Pimsleur is good, except it's mainly learning by listening. I personally needed more interaction with the structure and grammar. Auralog also uses listening as well however. There is a free online trial for beginner Spanish, but it's really nothing like the software. By the way, are you looking to learn European or Latin American Spanish?

I'm of the practical kind, so something that helps you learn setences would be quite apreshiated (however to write that).
And are there any easy to read spanish books cartoons or easy to understand cds or movies you can recommend?
Thanks in advance,
JJ
Edit: I'm native german speaker, but it would be ok if the program is in english.

Thanks to all of you,
I already thought about the Rosetta Stone one, but It seems quite pricy, but I think I'll give it a second look.
And many thanks for that offer Frannyman :)

Being in my 4th yr of spanish in high school, id have to say its not as bad as some make it out to be. Except fo he nys regents that you have to take at the end of this year. Ugggh...

Basic sentence structure is different, where in english we would say the red house, in spn they would literally say the house red. But if im not mistaken, other europen langs are like that, so german may already be like that.
