hi! I haven't ventured over to the water fountain really before now but as I am more comfortable and lookin to spend time on aximsite I felt it was about time!

anyway...my husband and I are looking to get this tv next month and I thought I would take a chance and see if anyone had any thoughts or experience on this tv!

Well, we bought this one...Samsung 50" DLP Projection HDTV (HL-S5087W) for each other for Christmas...on Black Friday, and got a great deal on it. Its a DLP, unlike the one your looking at, which has a newer technology. Heres more info and a review for yours...

Looks interesting! Not the same tv, but still a Samsung, and I do have to say that we love ours. Its had great reviews, and was in the top 5 on C Reports . And its 1080p , which bodes well for its future. The thing about DLP's is yes, the bulbs may be @$200 bucks, but when you replace it years down the road, you have a like-new tv again. (We actually got the 2 year warranty, which gets us one anyways IF the bulb did go.)

I had a hard time deciding which way to go, but the best way to do it is to go and LOOK at them . Your eyes wont lie. I was kinda surprised that Samsung got such high ratings, but I thought we'd check it out. I'd say look at the reviews you can find, go look at it, and go from there. Good luck!! Thanks for the info. The one you said you got I think is the model right before this one. we were reading C Reports too and it marked this one as a top buy and all and it looks pretty good on paper so far. I will check out that link you posted too. I told my husband we definatly need to go SEE them and get an idea of what looks best but those samsungs sound pretty good. I also like them b/c the one he has been eying for 2 years is a Sony and overpriced! The C Reports had the one we wanted listed at more $$$ but from what we could find the samsung is less expensive!!!

I got a chance to take a look at one this weekend and its not bad. Anyone else have any other thoughts or can recommend any other LED based rear projection HDTVs?
