DST 2007 and beyond

I have seen several threads, on several different web forums, regarding Daylight Savings Time in 2007 and beyond. Here is one such thread.

What are Dell's intentions, if any, towards supporting their customers in this regard?

I am aware that they are out there, and the registry entries are not difficult, even freehand. Not the point.

if it weren't for this site, I wouldn't know how to change the registry :)
my backup plan is just to change the time manually, but that's kinda annoying.
I'm surprise to see Dell hasn't mention anything about the DST2007.
Are they expecting everyone's going to figure out how to modify registries on Axim?

Heh ... maybe Dell is making a statement, there, about the level of competency of Axim owners. I guess they think we must really have our act together, eh?

-CB :)

That is certainly one interpretation. A more plausible one is a statement about how not together Dell's own act is or their level of confidence regarding their own competency.

DELL: RELEASE AN OFFICIAL PATCH. NOW

Your patch does not work on an X30. Anyone have a patch for the X30?

I just made a CAB file with the inf as provided from MS. Not sure actually what devices it supports.

Why should Dell do a fix when Microsoft has already done it - see below link to update mobile device.

Because Microsoft took too long to post the update, and then didn't notify users it was available.

Microsoft has released the fix a month before the time change, so I don't see a problem with that. But, I agree that notification to users is a problem. I found out from WinXP News, to which I'm subscribed; I just recently subscribed to Mobile News.

There was an online news story about it yesterday, but it had no links.

And it wasn't in Microsoft's Download Notifications, on 2/9/07, to which I subscribe, as well as MS' Beta Program for Activesync. Even when you follow the links for Mobile today, it doesn't show up at all.
