The launch of Apple's iPhone has been long awaited
Cisco is suing Apple Computer for trademark infringement in a federal court, for using the iPhone name....
...Only three weeks ago, Cisco's Linksys arm employed the trademark when it launched its own phone, capable of connecting to the internet, called the iPhone.
That was quick!! :)

I think there needs to be a basic cellphone that has no features other than the ability to make calls called the KrapFone. I doubt there would be a lawsuit over that unless truth in advertising is enforced and all those other phones are deemed to actually be competing products.

In a news report about Apple's iphone announcement I read that Apple was supposedly in negotiations with Cisco to acquire the iphone name. That report stated that the deal with Cisco was almost complete and expected to be finalized in a few days. Apparently that deal went south?
