Icon13 Avoid Purchasing At Belkin.com

Earlier this week I ordered the Belkin Car Charger for Dell Axim X50 from Belkin.com. I got a great price including shipping. I called before placing the order to confirm that it would ship same day and I was told it would, so I placed the order online.

After not receiving the shipping confirmation I called the next day to see if it had shipped. The CSR seemed to be picking a fight with me about it and was very rude. I was then told that it would ship that day.

Three days later I still had no shipping confirmation. I called again and was told (by a nicer CSR) that it would ship that day. Since I had heard that 2x before I finally cancelled the order to get one from a vendor who cares.

I found out later that Belkin has a poor rating at resellerratings.com. Go figure!

LOL, There products are great, and usually at a good price, only seems reasonable that there is a catch.

I have ordered several items from Belkin and I have had no trouble at all. But anyone can have a bad experience with the best of companies.

This is true, and I certainly don't doubt that some have had a good ordering from Belkin. Sites like resellerratings exist for a purpose, and there are reasons why companies like Newegg rate highly and those like Belkin rate otherwise. With Newegg a good experience is a sure thing and at Belkin it will be a roll of the dice.

BTW, I still think Belkin makes fine products. However, customer service is not their strong suit.

My purchase went OK. Your thread should be titled "Avoid Talking to Belkin CSR's"

I had a grat experience with Belkin.com and would order from them again with no hesitation. Perhaps your experience was more of an isolated incident rather than the norm

I will never order from Belkin again. I had a horrible hassle with them years ago over some KVM cables.

I'll NEVER fly American Airlines, either. Nor purchase ANYthing "Sony" -- except for headphones.

I confess that I am a fan of Belkin products but mainly buy them from resellers - maybe that's why I find them so expensive

I hope for your sake that you are never caught in the city on a smoggy day. I would hate to see the results of your getting some bad air.

UPDATE:
I ordered the same part from TechOnWeb.com after 2:00 PM EST today. The cost was a little less than at Belkin.com. Even better, it shipped same day with an estimated arrival of Tuesday Jan 30 with $3.95 FedEx ground shipping! TechOnWeb is highly rated at Pricegrabber and Resellerratings, apparently for very good reason.

A bad experience is what I get for not checking the company's rating first.
