Apparently there are small bones between the teeth that my former dentist broke off during the removal of a wisdom tooth. I can still feel it beneath the flesh pointing straight up. Like a tiny hill. :)
My last one should be gone by the end of next week. :)

Oh, I had a doozy of an experience years ago. I had my wisdom teeth (all of them hadn't come in yet) removed at the same time over Christmas break. During the wisdom removal, we had a bad snowstorm blow up. The removal went apparently fine, but two other things occurred to make the experience quite memorable: 1) Because of the blizzard, it took my dad over two hours to get the pain medication at the pharmacy--we lived in rural Illinois when I was younger, and 2) while he was out sliding around in the snow, I came down with a stomach bug that had been going around school at the time. I was getting sick every 30-60 minutes, so I couldn't even keep the medication down for a day or two. It's quite and experience two have four fresh holes in your mouth and be getting sick once or twice an hour for nearly 48 hours. My grandparents were staying with us as well and I had to sleep on a bed in the unfinished basement, so I didn't have the luxury of recuperating in my room, either, and the bathroom was upstairs...

Oh, good fun that!

Ahh yes the old wisdom teeth dilemma! What a "wonderful" experiece I had!
I had all 4 removed as well. I had to be put to sleep. Only one issue though - I didn't stay asleep during the surgery! That was interesting b/c I awoke to the doctor breaking one of the teeth in pieces the get it out - great feeling!
Luckily, all he had to do was crank up the iv & off I went again into lala land!

I've always wanted to be put to sleep while going to the dentist.
I'd prefer to be put to sleep at home and wake up at home. :)

Hate dentists!

Gargle with salt water, the wisdom tooth, or part of one, will eventually go away.

Where?

I had all mine pulled and they had to cut away some jaw bone. It was fine as long as you were under; however, afterwards even with painkillers I still couldn't eat anything. You would think that pizza would be soft enough to eat - WRONG. The worse is if you run out of painkillers before the pain finally subsides. Hope this cheers you up.

I had mine pulled and went to a party the same evening. But then I felt an intense buzzing that hurt so badly that I left the party. The next morning I was in huge pain and called the Dr. and he said I had "dry sockets". I think that's an exposed nerve. He gave me some medicated gauze like they gave Dustin Hoffman's character in "Marathon Man" and a few days later it went away.

I need mine pulled. The dentists have been trying to persuade me to let them remove them for about 3 years. They don't hurt so I feel I don't really need them out. But they are growing in slanted and pushing on my other teeth.

I hate having serious work done on my mouth because of the fact you can't hardly talk or eat for days. Eating and talking are one of the few things I actually enjoy.

I had two of mine pulled, they went easy as pie.

Then I went back to have the other two pulled. He said they'd do a couple fillings while they were at it. He had to crush the teeth to get them out. It was a nasty feeling that resonated through my skull. They were the tops. Then the fillings were on the bottom of course. I didn't get any pain meds and I drove to work right afterwords. They kinda bothered me here and there afterwords, but it wasn't anything I couldn't live with.
