What is your car history?

Hi guys, Just thought it would be interesting to extract all of the cars you've owned since you passed your driving test (assuming you have passed it :-P)

As I am only 21, I don't have much to contribute, but here is my history...

2003 - 2005 Citroen Saxo X 1.1L (Nasty car) -1997 R plate
2005 - ........ Fiat Bravo 80 SX - 2001 51 plate

Alright, I'm pissed. I was just about done telling you my trucks life story since I adopted it when I lost it. The jist of it was:
'99 Chevrolet Silverado
Officially adopted on New Years Day of the year 2002 and it was a whoppin 73000 miles old. Good times and bad times, I love that truck. I have the picture of it rolling over 100k. I just wish I was there to see her through that. She's been all over the country and now has I think 125k. Same BFG ATs that were on it when I bought it. THe truck and I are very close. I just feel bad about her sitting there in the garage with the battery maintaner on her because now I live and work with my brother, so we always take his 30mpg car into work.

Heres to 5 years together and here's to another 10 more.

when I first got my license in the 70s I only had an old ford stationwagon to drive that was once my parents I didnt like it but it was better than no wheels at all and after awhile my friends thought it was cool cause we could fit almost ten teenagers in it and cruise next was a 72 ford maverick which was very a good gas saver in the early 80s next was a 1980 monte carlo still in early 80s drove it for over ten yrs then got a 85 monte carlo ss that I only had for a yr it got stolen and never found. Next I got a 1988 beretta gt they had stopped making monte carlos. Drove it for 5 yrs then they started back making monte carlos so I got one a 1997 model and still driving it I also picked me up a 1994 chevy tahoe blazer which I still drive also about three yrs ago.

  • The first car my parents ever owned, a hand-me-down from Poppy (mom's dad)

  • It travelled over seas with us when Dad was stationed in England
  • It caught fire and perished in our diveway in 1965

Learned to drive in: 1972 VW Beetle :)

Then drove the family cars: 1985 Toyota 4-Runner (one of the first... had an aftermarket rear seat and removable top) :approve: and a 1984 Toyota Tercel "Space Wagon" :hide:

Then:

From 1987-1991: 1985 VW Golf :approve: [My first, and one of my 3 favorites - should have kept it until I bought my first Jeep ]
From 1991-1992: 1989 Ford Mustang V6 [I can't overstate how bad this car was in every respect... I'm completely not surprised by Ford's recent fiscal numbers]
From 1992-1993: 1993 Pontiac Sunbird V6 [Great power (lots) to weight (little) ratio, except during the four months known as Winter ]
From 1993-2005: 1994 Jeep Wrangler (4 cyl) [My first Wrangler. That's pretty much all that needs to be said  ]
In 2005: 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade [Wrangler died, thought I was being practical, except I just didn't like it... ]
In 2005-2006: 2005 VW Passat 1.8t 4motion [So let's be practical and mature... great car - just not me... ]

Now and for the forseeable future: 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X (4-door) [Finally! Let's be somewhat practical and take all three kids in a Wrangler with the top down! And back to complete automobile contentment. This thing is awesome. Me -> The wife and kids -> :approve: :approve: :approve: :approve: ]

Oh yes... and we can't forget the spouse's/family cars:

1992 - 1998: 1992 Plymouth Laser [Quick, practical, too small for kids]
1998 - 2001: 1997 Isuzu Rodeo [Rugged, safe, good for one kid or two]
2001 - 2004: 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan [Reliable, for the most part - can fit two kids and a couple of friends or grandparents, too...]
2004 - Present: 2004 Honda Odyssey [What can be said? It's a Honda. :approve: ]

1990 Hyundai Excel (junior in HS - junior in college)
1991 Chevy Corsica (1996-2004)
2001 Toyota Corolla (2004-present)
Cars I drive/have driven on a regular basis:
1988 Dodge Van (I forget the model, but it's my boyfriend's; it's old, rusty, but still going strong)
2003 Nissan Sentra (live-in BF's and he traded it in two months ago)
2007 Chevy HHR (his also)

If I'd given in to the heavy pressure that he put on me, we'd either have matching His and Hers HHRs right now, or I'd be in something else altogether, as he thinks I need to get rid of my Corolla (I don't complain about his Dodge though).

Hmmm...family history?

My dad has owned (since the mid seventies):

A Plymouth Duster
A Mercury (it was long and yellow, and I forget the model)
A long red car (he called it the Phoenix, I'm unsure if that was the make or the model)
A 1984 Cutlass Supreme
A 1993 Toyota Camry
He's now currently driving a 2005 Toyota Tundra

My mom has driven my dad's cars, and has had to herself:

A 1984 Cutlass Supreme (shared with my dad)
A 1995 Toyota Camry
She's currently driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon

LOL My brother's high-school car was, like, a 1983 Nissan Pulsar (he started driving it around the mid nineties)
Now he drives a 2001 Toyota Corolla (he's been in it for about six or seven years)

I've driven all these cars at one time or another except for my dad's Mercury, Phoenix, Plymouth, and Tundra. The former three because I was either not born or very young, the latter because I really have had a reason to.

Toyota Corolla DX Wagon (1984)
Mitsubishi Cordia GT (1987)
Toyota MR2 (1992)
Subaru Legacy RS (1991)
Honda Civic (1997)
Pontiac Sunfire (1999) and Suzuki Vitara XL-7 (2003)
