Playing Monopoly with real money.

Yesterday I was talking with a friend about how cool it would be to play monopoly with real money... we had a real loooong chat about how would the rules vary and how on earth to manage the bank thing...

So well, I found her on MSN Messenger a while ago and sent me this link. That looks really cool, but I don't know... I think Monopoly rules and what kind of pizza to order are the 2 most conflictive subjects on the planet and without a doubt the cause of several wars. Including WWI and II.

So my question is: Has anyone ever played Monopoly with real money? What rules did you used? Was it as fun as it sounds?

What other modifications can you think of?

As a man who is a "recovering Gambler" I'd say that looks scary. But then again I can't walk past a parking meter without wanting to put coins in it.

How do you think successful people make money? Forget playing games, buy a rental unit and rent it out. Then buy a 2nd one. This is real Monopoly. Put some money down, rent them out, build some equity, use that equity to buy another, and build your empire.

I might start doing so when I'm like 40 or something... In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to stick to the board game.

I actually played Monopoly using real money yesterday. Playing with 3 more friends and using the peruvian Nuevos Sol ($1= 3.3NS), each of us spent bettwen $4 and $7 and the winner took about $20.

It was surprissingly fun...
