One image to rule them all, laptops and desktops.

I made an unattended XP dvd that also installs all the standard apps unattended, applys reg changes, custom files, etc... virtually no hands on at all.

Then that is sysprepped and imaged.

Very useful when we want to change a big app, like oracle client or office, or new drivers for a new hardware platform, just replace the installer on the dvd, edit the line on the batch that installs it, and rebuild from scratch... makes images very uniform

The PCs we sell and the PCs we use in the office are all based on images :)

The closet of HDDs gets mighty full though with all the different configs we have :p

I've taken a break from this project but just got back to it.

I've sucessfully modified a corporate XPsp2 with the tablet files, and turned it into Corporate Tablet 2005... no BS from the manufacturer, no activation crap.

I've integrated the tablet drivers

Now the tablet boots from the DVD and does an unattended OS install, then I manually add about 6 device specific applications that will not install silently and I have a machine ready for productivity application installs

Those will be automated as well eventually

After that, sysprep and Ghost will finish it off
