any airgunners on the forum

just curius if there are any airgunners o nthe forum. and by airgun i do not mean airsoft, which are toys....

right now i have a semi auto 12 round crosman 1077 and an remmington crosman am77.

i am considering getting THIS in mid summer, but i was concerned about a few things.

first off this is a very powerful airgun. i manly shot light hollow point rounds which would travel well over the speed of sound in that gun. is the sonic "crack/boom" loud enough that the negbors would complain? seouncd, how much recoil will it produce? i can deal with a .22 recoil, but i tend to have problems with 9mm and up. and lastly, anyone have experince with that gun? opinoins?

maybe some of the "high end" ones arnt, but most are definatly, i mean i had a friend with one (a "high end" model and he shot me with it at point blank range in my back and i barly even felt it. if he had tried the samethign with even a low power airgun the round would have gone at least half way through me. also, airsoft guns are extermly in acurate. with my 1077 air rifle i can easly hit a thin popsical stick at 25-35ft. you could never do that with an airsoft. one last thing is that airsoft guns typicalay shoot at 100-200 fps. a low powered airgun shoots at 800fps and soem of the higher powered airguns shoot at 1600 to 2000fps.

The sonic boom will not be loud :p

Guns get over the sound barrier all the time and it is not noisy. I have a high end pellet gun to play around with and it never makes any loud noise or anything like that.

P.S. Seems like a lot for an airgun, you need a real gun man! ( :p, I know your a kid still)

Most airsoft guns shoot 300-450 fps and they are not toys that what get kids in trouble.

Pistol http://www.airgundepot.com/cp88nw.html
Benjerman- http://www.airgundepot.com/c9.html

Airsoft, is an air rifle. They are not toys, Your more likely to confuse a real gun with an airsoft rifle... I'm not pro airsoft either. It's just the truth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
About the gun you want, go walther, beeman, or benjerman. Don't get the stuff that is from China.

About the gun you want, go walther, beeman, or benjerman. Don't get the stuff that is from China.

first, gamo is spain, not china.
secound i dont think real guns have orange plastic caps on the muzzle.

and @ all of the peopel who say that airsoft gets people in trouble, anything that looks liek a gun will get a kid in trouble at school.

and lastly. air soft and airguns are 2 completely different things i know they sound alike but they are differnt. an airsoft gun is bought at walmart for $5 an airgun is an very high powered gun that fires a lead round, airsoft guns fire a light plastic round. airguns are not toys. if you ge shot by one it is like getting shot by a .22 or .25. if you egt shot with an airsoft it leaves a slight red mark. im sick and tired of peopel confusing the toy and makign their toy airsoft guns out to be real air or firearms. airsoft "rifles" arent rifles at all. they have a smooth bore barrel not riffled. airsoft guns are discribed as fake guns. and airgun is very powerful and is classifid as a firearm. some more differnces.

an airgun fires a heavy lead pellet
airsoft fires a light plastic ball

a pellet shot from a medium power airgun can puncture 5+ layers of thick tin.
a airsoft "bb" shot form a high power airsoft gun cant even puncture one layer of thick tin.

an airgun can be obtained at you local gun store
an airsoft is obtained at your local walmart

most airguns shoot at just below the speed of sound, or over.
all airsoft guns shoot hundreds of feet per secound slower then the speed of sound

airguns are made of wood/fiber reinforced synthetic stocks with blued barrels
airsoft guns are made of cheap plastic

most airguns are extermly accurate, being able to get 1 hole groups even at 60+ ft
all airsoft guns are very very inaccurate and have a range of less then 20ft

a scope for an airgun can cost hundreds of dollers
a scope for an airsoft gun isnt really even a scope, it is just 2 pieces of clear plastic in a tube and is bought at walmart

many adults use airguns for hunting small to medium game from 80+ ft away
many 10 yr olds use airsoft guns for shooting pecices of paper at 10 ft away

airguns usally cost between $300 and $2000
airsoft guns usally cost between $3 and $10

airguns can fire a wide varity of pellets (waddcutters, master points, hollow points, pile drivers)
airsoft guns can only fire a small plastic ball

airguns come in many different cals such as .177, .22, .25
airsoft comes in only one size

and one last, last thing. if you google "airsoft toy" you get a bunch of resuls. if you google "airgun tyo" you get a few news articals where the reporter got airgun confused with airsoft.

"Walk into the Middletown Flea Market on Dolson Avenue any weekend, and you can find cheap made-in-China airsoft guns. Similar to BB guns, airsoft guns are imitation firearms that shoot plastic beads that could barely break the skin. Playing with airsoft guns is similar to playing with paintball guns; the point is to shoot your playmates. Show an ID that says you're at least 16, fork over as little as $6, and take one home. It's simple to paint over or just snap off the orange tip. On some plastic guns here, the tips are already black. These aren't like the metal BB gun that John Peel used in the robbery, but local police departments have recovered a fair number of these plastic look-alikes"

Chris I am sorry but I will say again airsoft is not a toy. Yes there are cheep ones but there much most expensive ones. Take a look here and tell if they are cheep http://www.airsoftshop.com/index.php?cPath=1_11. 6mm .25 gram bb is pretty actuate with the right gun. Who cares if you got one form Wal-Mart for $5 you can get cheep air guns too.

Guys cut the orange tip off and mount flash hiders instead.

A Fine example Chirs, It is realistic, and 300 bucks.[B]

an airgun fires a heavy lead pellet Not heavy at all, and you forgot air guns= BB guns as well, and bb's are not made out of lead.
airsoft fires a light plastic ball

a pellet shot from a medium power airgun can puncture 5+ layers of thick tin.
a airsoft "bb" shot form a high power airsoft gun cant even puncture one layer of thick tin. I'm sorry chris, I was shot with a recoil from a pellet, and i just had a welt. It was a .177 I think. Airsoft, take a 600 FPS sniper rifle ( Yes, they do have them!) and you have a puncture, but barely in.

an airgun can be obtained at you local gun store
an airsoft is obtained at your local walmart
Walmart sells both, and they also sell gamo!

most airguns shoot at just below the speed of sound, or over.
all airsoft guns shoot hundreds of feet per secound slower then the speed of sound
Yeah, maybe a modded one, but no average daisy, gamo, or a crossman can do that!
airguns are made of wood/fiber reinforced synthetic stocks with blued barrels
airsoft guns are made of cheap plastic
Look at www.airsoftgi.com and look at Classic army AEG's they are metal. The high end AIRGUNS ARE BETTER QUALITY though

most airguns are extermly accurate, being able to get 1 hole groups even at 60+ ft
all airsoft guns are very very inaccurate and have a range of less then 20ft
Airsoft, they shoot more then 10 feet, although you do need to mod them for accuracy.

a scope for an airgun can cost hundreds of dollers
a scope for an airsoft gun isnt really even a scope, it is just 2 pieces of clear plastic in a tube and is bought at walmart
Not true, you could get a descent scope.

many adults use airguns for hunting small to medium game from 80+ ft away
many 10 yr olds use airsoft guns for shooting pecices of paper at 10 ft away
No, many adults would use a .22 for hunting "Small game" Airguns are used for target practice. Airsoft= Paintball

airguns usally cost between $300 and $2000
airsoft guns usally cost between $3 and $10
No, actually airsoft can go from $10-1000

airguns can fire a wide varity of pellets (waddcutters, master points, hollow points, pile drivers)
airsoft guns can only fire a small plastic ball
Look below:

airguns come in many different cals such as .177, .22, .25
airsoft comes in only one size
Nope, 6,10,12,14,16,20 grams. 6,10, and 12 are for the crappy wal mart airsoft.

and one last, last thing. if you google "airsoft toy" you get a bunch of resuls. if you google "airgun tyo" you get a few news articals where the reporter got airgun confused with airsoft.
Really, Something came up for "airsoft tyo?"

chris
Answears in BOLD. You have no idea, Wal mart sells airguns too! I am not pro airsoft, in fact i don't play or use the guns. I rather like airguns. Gamo is in spain, but i thought a few of there low-end guns are made in China. 10 bucks says chris is the next NRA president...
