Ps: How many situps and pushups should i do a day? I'm also going to try eating healthier! I'm also drinking plenty of water.
Have a great time in DC Like Jogga said. Don't worry about it. Start now with all the good advice here and feel good about your self and all the positive things that you are doing for yourself. Believe me it spreads to those around you.

Numbers. always the question. How many can you do now with good form, from the midsection. Do that number and then gradually add some more. Remember it takes about 24 hours to feel the effects of any unusual exercise so don't overdo it. you won't feel much until it is too late.

Running is the same. Start out by seeing what you can do and then slowly increase. mileage doesn't matter, just increase your minutes by a minute or two as you progress.

Good Luck and let us know how you are doing.:approve: :approve: :approve:

There's definitely a lot of good advice here. It's worth noting though, that if you want to gain strength, it takes fewer reps and higher weight. Most experts seem to agree that 3-4 sets of 4-6 reps is ideal for building strength. 3 sets of 20 reps will increase strength much more slowly. Just be careful not to overdo it and injure yourself!

sets of 3-5 reps = max strength.
set of 6-8 reps = max size
sets of 10-14+ reps = burning fat.

Also, those 3-5 reps tend to be max weight.
6-8 medium weight.
10-14+ a weight that you feel the burn but isn't too challenging.
